Public Participation provides the opportunity for all role players including Interested & Affected Parties (I&AP's), environmental advocacy groups, state departments, organs of state, and the competent authority (CA) to obtain clear, accurate and understandable information about the environmental impacts of the proposed activity or implications of a decision and provides for role-players to voice their support, concerns and questions regarding the project, application or decision.

Fox Civil & Environmental Engineers (Pty) Ltd has been appointed by Eskom SOC Ltd to undertake the necessary environmental services required for the proposed Telecommunication masts, a 45m mast in Craigieburn and a 45m mast within Nkonka132Kv Substation in Umzinto, Umdoni Municipality and eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, KwaZulu Natal. As per GNR 326 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations (2014, as amended) a Basic Assessment (BA) Process must be undertaken in such a manner that the environmental outcomes, impacts and residual risks of the proposed Listed Activities being applied for are noted in the BA Report and assessed accordingly by the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP).
